U10 soccer training drills focus on maximizing touches on the soccer ball through various turns and close control of the soccer ball.

Apply this fun soccer training drill to any age group of soccer players for lots of touches, turns, creativity, and finishing with a shot on goal.

U10 Soccer Training Drills

U10 SOCCER TRAINING DRILLS INSTRUCTIONS

  • Set up cones into an M shape. More cones lead to a bigger training grid. 
  • Space cones 10 m/yd from bottom to top cone and about 1 m/yd, or less for the inside cones.
  • Dribble the soccer ball from the starting cone, around each cone, moving with the soccer ball through all the cones. 
  • Use the 10 m/yd space to get as many touches on the ball as you can, or add 1 or 2 dribble moves. Keep the ball close; don't just kick it forward. 
  • (Optional) Finish with a pass or shot on goal after dribbling the ball around the last cone.

  • Right foot only

  • Roll across body
  • Juggle the ball across, and around cones.

Soccer Coaching Tips

  • Use quick, short touches when dribbling the soccer ball. Keep the ball close and FOCUS ON TOUCHES. 
  • Make tight turns around the cones.
  • Concentrate on your touches; every step should be a touch on the ball.
  • Use the bigger spacing between cones to explode with the ball and slow down at the cone. 

Focus U10 soccer training drills on close touches and dribbling to get the players comfortable with the soccer ball early on.

Get creative, and as long as players move, focus, and touch the ball around, they are gaining skills in controlling the soccer ball.
