Soccer Agility Training Drills

Most important factor in doing soccer agility training drills is to focus on footwork and technique when cutting or turning around cones.

Players must use short steps when approaching cones and turning around them in a tight angle which prepares players to explode forwards.

This exercise is a great way to focus on short steps with quick footwork around closely spaced cones.

AGILITY SOCCER DRILL SET UP

  • Place 10 - 15 cones in a straight line, 1 m/yd of distance between each cone...

AGILITY DRILL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Weave in and out of the cones like shown by arrows in the picture...
  • Do this as fast as possible, but allow yourself time to use the right technique, by weaving in and out using small, shorter steps...
  • Once at the end of the cones, jog back...

When I say weave in and out, I mean to use sideways stance with but down and feet shuffling right, than switching to the left side.

Players should not cross their feet, but attempt to move their feet quickly as they move diagonally through the cones.
