Soccer Drills for 10 Year Olds - #11

This soccer training session was focused on touches and movement with the soccer ball.

Constant encouragement to clean up touches and concentrate on the ball.

This training session is focused on the technique with the soccer ball and most drills are done with the soccer ball.

This is a 2 hour soccer training session.

Soccer Warm Up with
Juggling and Ball Control

Every soccer training session starts with light warm up with the soccer ball using juggling and ball control to get the players started in training with lots of touches on the soccer ball.

If the players are messing up, I always encourage them to slow down and focus on their touches rather than speed.

When it comes to juggling, some players are not at a skill level to juggle the soccer ball freely so I encourage players to juggle the ball off the bounce or even easier method is to drop the soccer ball out of hands and kick it back up to catch.

Like any skill in sports, repetition is the key to become better.

Agility and Speed Soccer Drills for 10 Year Olds and Older Players

Soccer training can't go without any agility, speed and fitness training.

Boys are already tired from constant work with the soccer ball and I wanted to add at least one soccer training drill for speed, agility and fitness.

Soccer Core Workout

Core strength is very important in any sport. Working on core strengthening is crucial to all the skills in the game; shooting, passing, jumping, heading, injury prevention, etc.

I always encourage players to build a habit for doing planks and pushups daily. Great way to get into a habit for planks and pushups is to tie it to brushing teeth in the morning or at night.
